UChicago PSD celebrates launch of The Chicago Center for the Origins of Life with Symposium

On May 9th, 2024 the University of Chicago Physical Sciences Division will launch the much anticipated The Chicago Center for the Origins of Life. To officially launch this unique center focused on multidisciplinary research that seeks to understand how life developed on Earth and the potential for life elsewhere, PSD will hold a symposium to celebrate the momentous occasion. 

 

The day of exciting talks and presentations from distinguished scientists will include Gerald (Jerry) Joyce, Salk Institute for Biological Studies; John Sutherland, Medical Research Council (UK); Nicholas Tosca, University of Cambridge (UK); and Ilaria Pascucci, University of Arizona. Lunch will be provided between sessions and  a reception will be held immediately following the day's programming.

 

This is sure to be a wonderful event highlighting the groundbreaking work in pursuit of understanding the origins of life on Earth and the potential for life elsewhere in our universe. We encourage you to join us for any and all of the programming. We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you on May 9th.
