David Mazziotti and Jiwoong Park have been elected as American Physics Society Fellows. The APS Fellowship Program was created to recognize members who may have made advances in physics through original research and publication, or made significant innovative contributions in the application of physics to science and technology.
David Mazziotti was elected for contributions to the developments of accurate and efficient electronic structure methods for many-electron molecules, based on density matrices.
Jiwoong Park was elected for the development of synthetic, imaging, and characterization techniques of atomically thin materials and the discovery of novel properties of van der Waals solids, "UChicago is a wonderful place for people like my group working at the boundary between chemistry, physics, and engineering," said Jiwoong Park.
