Clarivate’s 2023 Highly Cited Researchers includes Three Chemistry Faculty 25 Scientists from the University of Chicago have made Clarivate’s 2023 Highly Cited Researchers” list, including three UChicago Chemistry Department faculty members - Wenbin Lin, Chuan He, and Jiwoong Park.
According to the organization, each selected researcher has authored multiple highly cited papers “which rank in the top 1% of citations for their field(s)” in the Web of Science™ citation index. Each year the list is determined through citation activity, qualitative analysis, and expert judgment.
Department Chair and Professor Jiwoong Park credited “the innovative work my group is doing” and said, “It's great to be listed with great colleagues.”
Professor Wenbin Lin celebrated his 10th year in a row he has made the coveted list.
“I am so flattered,” said Lin, “but this is a result of the hard work and dedication of my past and present group members, including visiting scholars, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students, and high school students. Their incredible efforts have not only been recognized through peer citations but also allowed us to translate multiple nanomaterials into the clinic to treat cancer patients.”
Professor Chuan He, who has made the list in the categories of Molecular Biology & Genetics as well as Biology & Biochemistry, celebrates his 12th nomination. Like Lin, He was quick to share his success with former colleagues and students, such Qing Dai, a senior Scientist and Research Professor with the He Group; Xiaoyun Wang and Boxuan Zhao, two former students of He; and Zhike Lu, a former research staff member.
Clarivate writes that “The United States continues to lead the world in citations, with 2,669 Highly Cited Researcher designations… which amounts to 37.5% of the group.
