Chuan He and Wenbin Lin Make List of World's Most Influential Researchers
Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers list spotlights significant research and far-reaching influence
The University of Chicago is proud to announce that two of its faculty members, Chuan He and Wenbin Lin, have been named to the 2024 Highly Cited Researchers list by Clarivate. The prestigious list released annually identifies scientists who have demonstrated exceptional influence in their fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers over the past decade.
Chuan He, the John T. Wilson Distinguished Service Professor in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, was recognized this year in two categories: Biology & Biochemistry and Molecular Biology & Genetics. This marks his 13th and 14th time earning this honor from Clarivate. He is renowned for his groundbreaking work on RNA modifications and their impact on gene expression and cellular processes. His research has significantly advanced our understanding of fundamental biological mechanisms and has implications for human health and disease.
Wenbin Lin, the James Franck Professor in Chemistry, has been recognized in the field of Chemistry for the 11th time by Clarivate. He is a leading expert in the design and synthesis of nanomaterials for biomedical applications. His innovative work has led to the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic tools with the potential to revolutionize cancer treatment and drug delivery.

The Highly Cited Researchers list is compiled by analyzing citation data from the Web of Science, an extensive database of scholarly literature. The methodology identifies researchers whose publications rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year, demonstrating significant influence among their peers.
